Rains collaborated with Danish artist, Jacob Egeberg for its debut Paris Fashion Week show, 'We Come in Peace.' Rains' Autumn-Winter 2022 collection is inspired by the aurora borealis. Jacob Egeberg distilled that reference into a minimal universe for the collection's runway show. The aesthetic sat between amorphous and sculptural; fabricated and organic. While a near-colorless palette left space for models and looks to shine - the show's Northern Lights.
Models began their walks through a 14-meter tunnel. The tunnel comprised hand-sculpted connected blocks arranged to evoke the movement of the Northern Lights. Jacob continued the experience with seating for the show's two hundred guests. Each chair was a hand-sculpted one-off, characterized by an organic rock-like aesthetic.
"The set is a fabricated depiction of a natural landscape, with organic formations that evoke an urban concrete vibe. It reflects Rains' brand and collections, where minimal design meets the natural elements," says Jacob Egeberg.
